POP - 14 August 2009
Definitely the highlight of yesterday, we, the batch of 2006-2009 NP cadets, officially passed out as NCOs, handing over to the Sec 3s, whose hierarchy isn't out as of yet. I must say the reign as NCOs and Year 1 i/c was quite a fast term mostly due to my involvment in NPAP and the fact that I was moved around.
Even though I ain't the leadership type of person, I was having mixed feelings of handing over as the handing over comes with alot of terms. NP Room will no longer be of free access to us (I think). No more hideout for the 12-13 peeps where we definitely had a lot fun in. The bridge, taiti, soccer, ping pong, throwing-ball-in-bin etc sessions will definitely be missed. Fridays for me ends at 1 now. No more 6-8pm where a small group of us will stay back to play street, and what nots.
On the way to the eagle statue, Mark and Julian were joking how both of them, despite Mark getting the cane last year, he ain't going to return it, and Julian, vice versa. I chimed it saying I took the Sec 1 cane, and 1 year later, I still am going to return it. (: Come to think of it, I think I am the only person who retained the original position entrusted to me. /: But, we shall leave the bad memories there.
Seeing the video of us in the LT was really emotion-evoking, seeing how we have grown from 2006 to now when we are the seniors (minus CIs).
I will definitely remember my 4 years in NPCC, the friendships made, the good and the bad memories, shall all remain etched in my mind (Not all the bad memories though!). I still can't believe 4 years went by like that. I feel that my secondary school years went by too fast, I ain't ready for IB!!
So, that's it. Byebye ACNP. Keep the gold standard up!
Oh, and POP stands for Passing out Parade for those who don't know. (:
Street Soccer Comp - 15 August 2009
The result of this competition was really unexpected. I am pretty sure many of us - if not all - would never have guessed AC to reach the semi-finals, let alone the finals, let alone emerge as the CHAMPIONS! Granted that there were definitely the many muts taking part, I couldn't imagine the sec 3s winning. But, never say never. We won - albeit on Goals For, we had 3 goals compared to the other two school's 2 each. Congratulations to Lester, Anand, Titus, Gideon, Nikhel, Zhi Cong, Keng Yi!
Now, for the analogy.
The situation was an analogy to the Bible story of God (Father) putting the tree of knowledge of good and evil and tree of life (poison), and also warning them not to touch it, in the garden of eden. Then, along came Satan (stranger) and Adam and Eve (2 children) commited the first act of sin. As a result, they were banished from the Garden of Eden.
Now, the analogy is definitely not 100% accurate, so you guys may have been misled/misinterpreted it. I don't believe there is a yes/no answer for this question as to whose fault it is. Also, I don't mean to cause any controversial topics as I just decided to ask around as to you guys' opinions as to whose fault, after seeing it on one of the game's (that I play) forum.

P.S. What a looooong post!
You can never say never
Why we don't know when
Time and time again.
